Making: step by step

Remember all those new supplies last week? I know I do because I’ve been breaking the materials down into manageable chunks and making them into things!

I cut a bunch of the felt down and I’ve been printing on it- more of the Los Angeles and California pennants and a new pennant I’ll be adding to the mix, Joshua Tree! I’m super excited about the Joshua Tree pennant, I can’t wait to finish sewing them together and have them all ready to go. I’ll have all of the pennants at the upcoming Patchwork shows I’ll be vending at in the next few weeks.  Both at Patchwork Long Beach next week and in June at Patchwork Santa Ana, more info on those shows below!

I’ve also been getting to work on the silk scarves I’ve been testing and creating. Gathering supplies for dyeing on a larger scale and making sure I’ve thought through the process before I have a big pot of dye in the works.  Taking my time and wanting to do it right from the beginning! But the first step was breaking down the silk into the right sizes so I can get to manipulating the fabric into something new. Next step is folding the fabric and then, the dye pot!

Here’s a few images of the work in progress and the info on Patchwork shows as well!

I’ll have all my new things as well as some of my hand pulled screen prints for the wall at both of these shows. Come check them out and say hi!!!
