Making: Printing for days

Here they are, the last and final prints from 2010! These are the prints I wanted to print at Renegade LA but it was just too blasted hot and then it’s been raining the last few weeks making printing tricky as everything take longer to dry. Man, too hot or too dry- screen ink is fussy isn’t it?

The first one is a great half tone heart layer in beige with a bright red overlay and the second in blue with green overlay. I numbered these together into one edition -there are 12 of each. 11 x 14 on the size.

The second is a 16×20 print with multiple layers. I really like the way this turned out. I love the hands sprinkling flavor on the tongue while the rabbit lady looks on. and the way the great pink tongue licks down to the roof of the small building.

16 x 20
edition of 10
6 layer print on paper
I also printed this one on a few sheets of aluminum and a few sheets of brass. The metal prints look great! There’s something about the way it looks with the ink. These are cool as they can be propped up and don’t really need a frame.

2010-221-miriamdemaAll right kids. That’s about it for 2010! I’m off the grid for a few days for fun and shenanigans with friends and then it’s on to 2011 right around the corner!

Oh my god the printing on metal looks AWESOOOOME! Hopefully, I’ll get to see this in person to really check out the textures!
